The Parish Pastoral Plan
Once the mission statement, goals, and objectives have been created, the pastor and Parish Pastoral Council publish the plan for the parish. The plan should be very well publicized for all parishioners. You are encouraged to ratify the plan in an appropriate way.
Pastoral Councils are asked to use the Parish Pastoral Plan Reporting Tool to submit the pastoral plan to the Office of Pastoral Planning. This standard reporting tool will be forwarded to the Office of the Bishop as well. The Reporting Tool is provided here. If you need any assistance, please contact the Office of Pastoral Planning.
Joint Meeting of the Pastoral Council and Finance Council
The relationship between the Parish Pastoral Council and the Parish Finance Council is crucial to the development of relevant and prudent Pastoral Plans. The Parish Pastoral Council is encouraged to meet with the Parish Finance Council to review the Parish Pastoral Plan before it is published to the parish and submitted to the Bishop.
The Office of Pastoral Planning, in collaboration with the Parish Fiscal Management Office, has developed the following suggested agenda for a joint meeting of the Pastoral Council and Finance Council.
In addition, it is encouraged that a permanent liaison member from the Finance Council sit on the Parish Pastoral Council
