Many Pastoral Council members have asked for parish assembly dates at other parishes. One of the best ways to learn about conducting a parish assembly is to see another council in action. To that end, I give you the dates for the parish assemblies which we know of at the Pastoral Planning Office. If you want to go, just give the parish a call and let them know you are coming to observe.
If your parish is not here, we do not know the date of your assembly, so please let us know.
    Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing these! I went to one over the weekend as a 'sneak peek' for planning ours. Which Our Lady of Grace is on 5/16 - the one in Gravesend or Howard Beach?
  4.
    Hi Margaret,
I believe 5/16 is the OLG in Gravesend. I have made that correction on the post- thanks!

    Hello,
Our Parish Assembly at Our Lady of the Cenacle in Richmond Hill, Queens was yesterday. We had about 85 Parishioners who expressed great interest in Pastoral Planning.
We plan to have Reflection Groups in Fall. Would it be possible to hold a PPO sponsored training/info in a Queens location in Sept.? Maybe you are thinking about this?
  6.
    Hi Liz,
I'll send you an e-mail off line! Meanwhile, to all:
We schedule regular workshops on topics of interest (which are currently Reflection groups and Implementation) and try to scatter them throughout the diocese based on need. If you have never received a notification, drop us a line to get on our e-mail database.

So, let us know if there are things your PPC is struggling with or just needs some more information on and we'll do our best to work with you.

    Peace,
    Ellen

    Hello to All,
We are Post-Assembly. Our consensus at June Meeting was this event was a positive start in the Pastoral Planning Process. We are working on draft of Parish Mission Statement. What I wonder about is the Timeline as suggested in the PPC Manual. It seems too tight for us where we are.
Our members want a break for the summer so no Meeting until September.
Can we configure the Timeline to adjust to our
progress? We have bi-lingual challenges(translation of info from Assembly) which take more time than we expected.
I realize that deadlines are important but rather than set time limits, it seems that quality of the process is the ulimate goal of PPC.
Any other Parishes that have not moved along as quickly as Manual suggests? Thanks for your input.

    Hi Liz,
The timeline is a guide to help PPC's space out the work so the plan can be completed by November 30th. It is merely a tool. Adjust it at will, whatever works for your PPC, as long as the plan is completed by November.

FYI- We have created abridged timelines to assist parishes who are not holding their assembly until Fall. Contact us for more info.
    Peace,
    Ellen
